It's milk in first for me

With Autumn in the air, this morning, my thoughts turn to deliciously cool, lazy mornings with a pot of tea and catching up with all my blogger friends.

In England, the order one puts milk in the tea is a class thing. Personally I like milk in first. I can never know how much room to leave for milk. I warm my milk, in the jug, while the tea is brewing. I use a "Mrs. Tea" to make my morning and afternoon tea. The Mr. Coffee company discontinued it some years ago, but I have two of them put away for future use, should this one should one quit. It makes such a great pot of tea, and so easy. I just wouldn't want to go back to the old way of boiling water, heating the pot, etc.

I agree, I like to put my milk in first too! I love the tea cup in your little video. Is that your cup? It has such an interesting handle and texture. Love the video clip!
Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Hugs,
Terri

I'm a milk-in-first person too. My husband is a sugar and lemon person - I don't know how we've lasted all these years!
I love your tea maker. I use an electric kettle, warm the pot and the cup too, because I like my tea to stay as hot as possible for as long as possible.

Well hello there!

Milk in first seems to be the way to go, yet for some reason when I brew and serve my extra special blend of Cream Of Earl Grey Tea I reverse the order and warm the teapot and teacup first.

.., Then I add my warmed milk and sugar, just purely for the pleasure of my little afternoon tea ceremony; that of watching the stream of creamy white milk flow into the teacup.

Stirring with my dainty silver teaspoon and then adding a lump of brown demerara sugar cube with my silver sugar tongs.. You'd think 'I'd died and gone to heaven' or some such bliss!

I adore your little tea video and love the idea of your Mrs. Tea, tea brewer. I only wish they still manufactured it!

Thanks so much for joining me for our 72nd, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday' and also for my 101st, 'Tuesday Tea For Two' Zaa!

Cheers and hugs from Wanda Lee

Oops! I had meant to say rather.., I add my freshly brewed tea after warming my tea vessels and then add my milk;( as mentioned, only when I brew my special Earl grey tea blend)..,

Cheers WL

Hello,
that is a funny video with the creamer. How did you do that? Your tea machine looks great. I live in germany and love my tea with sugar and lemon.
Best greetings, Johanna

My MIL who was a proper English woman of course put her milk in first...I hadn`t thought of that in a bit. Afraid I still don`t mind the habit of brewing a cup in my mug! Horrors!

I have been meaning to visit your blog after your visit to mine, and I am just now getting around to it. I love your blog! This post tickles me because we are tea drinkers. I sent my oldest daughter off to college with our Mrs. Tea so she could make hot tea in her dorm suite's mini kitchen (the do not have a stove in it, only a sink and microwave). I don't know about the class thing, but i usually pour milk and tea at the same time, then I add sugar. We drink PG Tips, Scottish Breakfast, an Irish Breakfast.

I am enjoying your blog this morning, and I will be your newest follower in a few seconds!

xoxoxo,
Ricki Jill
