Flag Day, 2011

13-Star Flag became the Official United States Flag on June14th, 1777

50-Star Flag by Executive Order of President Eisenhower dated August 21, 1959

Windows of Switzerland

It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. So it is with the windows of the house. They are a hint of the interior of the house.
The traditional mountain houses of Switzerland are beautiful. They display the skil of the carpenter's and joiner's craft. Each house is unique made with love, designed especially for the family that has lived there generation after generation. They are almost never sold to outsiders.

St. Gervais

We were walking in the 4th, when we came upon St. Gervais. This church is one of the oldest in Paris. Its existence at this place is mentioned as early as the fourth century. It was such a lovely setting. So peaceful after the noise and bustling people in the Notre Dame de Paris. Even though it was February relatively quiet, this corner of Paris was so still, and calm.
