Peter Rabbit

My last class, before I retired, was a darling group of 1st graders. I had taught every other grade but first. I had always wanted to teach this grade because of the curriculum, but never had the chance until then. What a treat. What a way to go out! Here are some of the little cuties from almost 3 years ago.
At the school at which I taught for over 30 years, the Beatrix Potter books are text books and are part of the curriculum.
Here are a few of the eggs I painted that year. I did an egg for each student and all the staff.

Those eggs are stunning! I so loved Beatrix Potter books when my children were young. A friend introduced us to them when my first child was a year old by giving her two books for her first birthday. Beatrix was so inspiring in how she lived her life. The world simply did not get in the way of how she wanted to live. Your gift for painting is beautiful. I so hope you still have those beautiful eggs.

Beautiful eggs, you certainly have talent! What a sweet thing to do for your students. I taught 6th grade a few years, then moved to middle school, and now I am teaching high school. 6th graders still have a certain sweetness about them.

How wonderful to know that a school has Beatrix Potter books as part of the curriculum. Her stories are family favorites, and each year my daughters receive a new character to add to their collection.
I love your eggs...what a gift.

These eggs are stunning. Each is a little work of art. How lucky were the students and staff to receive them.

OMG, how did I miss this when you first posted it? Thanks for sending me the link. These are absolutely fabulous. I'm in awe that you painted one for each of your students and the staff. I know they treasure these. I have all my handpainted eggs on a silver tray in the center of our dining room table. Some are from my mother and others from a local artist. Are you still painting any of these? ~ Sarah
