We have always enjoyed watching birds. My late husband, Jack, would sit for hours at a time waiting for that perfect photo. His favorite was hummingbirds. When we lived in Southern California we had a great resource near us, called
Tucker Bird Sanctuary. We used that resource when we would have a visitor that we didn't couldn't identify. There used to be more birds, but this is all that have survived.
This first egg was one I made especially for Jack. Some of the others were birds we had seen in our yard.

This egg was #1 daughter, Peggy's bird. Her 2nd grade reader was about a bluebird family, so it was very special to her, and later Polly, daughter # 2.
