I'm Melting

Summer has finally come to Oregon - with a vengeance.  The weather website, Wunderground.com is forecasting this for tomorrow! I only hope I survive. I hope this doesn't happen to me-

The colors on this old chocolate pot reminded me of the sunset from a couple of night ago. It had been so unusually hot here for several days. On that evening a lovely cool breeze came in from Canada and provided a delightful respite, and it has lasted for several more days.
I used this lovely old iridescent pot to display the beautiful hydrangeas my friend, Mary, brought for me from her daughter-in-law's garden. Even the flowers were in the same hues as both the pot, and the sunset!
Thank you Mary.

Lavender wreath

My lavender is about finished, so I cut the last blooms and braided them into a little wreath. I've hung it just inside my bedroom door. I'll smell it when ever I go through the door.

The photograph is of my Grandmother LaBrue. The silver cross is "Buttercup" by Gorham - the same pattern as my flatware. The other cross is faceted glass and silver that I bought in a shop near where my daughter was living in Switzerland. The other figure is a silver fairy my daughter gave me one Christmas.
